SGU cancelled by SyFy. Remaining 10 eps of season 2 to be played in the new year. I am not a fan of the stargate franchise but I enjoyed SGU, a pitty they have cancelled it. Looking for a new Sci-fi show? If you enjoyed shows like x-files and Fringe you should enjoy 'The Event' Aliens, NWO and wormholes ;D It is currently on Series one episode 10 with a halfway season break. The Event is an emotional, high-octane conspiracy thriller that follows Sean Walker (Jason Ritter, "The Class"), an everyman who investigates the mysterious disappearance of his would-be fianc e Leila (Sarah Roemer, "Disturbia"), and unwittingly begins to expose the biggest cover-up in U.S. history. Sean's quest will send ripples through the lives of an eclectic band of strangers, including newly elected U.S. President Elias Martinez (Golden Globe nominee Blair Underwood, "In Treatment"); Sophia Maguire (Emmy Award nominee Laura Innes, "ER"), who is the leader of a mysterious group of detainees; and Leila's shadowy father (Scott Patterson, "Gilmore Girls"). Their futures are on a collision course in a global conspiracy that could ultimately change the fate of mankind.

Never liked/could get into SGU. I'm a SG-1 O'Neill fan. The show ran for 10 years, that's sayin' something. These days rarely continue past a season or two. Atlantis is worth a watch too, its a spin-off. Leaving SGU a spin-off of a spin-off not so good. Recommend watching SG-1 from the beginning.
