MinecraftMinecraft is a sandbox building video game which allows players to build constructions out of textured cubes in a 3D world. It is currently in development, originally by creator Markus “Notch†Persson and now by his company formed from the proceeds of the game, Mojang Specifications. Minecraft has been developed on the Java platform. The gameplay is inspired by Dwarf Fortress, Dungeon Keeper, and Infiniminer. The game is divided into two main modes, Beta and Classic, where Classic is focused entirely on construction while Beta additionally contains enemies, a health meter, and additional features and items. Beta is the currently updated version of the game. Beginners tips for first day/nightMinecraft was developed for about a week before its public release on May 17, 2009 on the TIGSource forums, where it gained a considerable level of popularity. It has been continually updated and patched since then, and while still in alpha release, it garnered hundreds of thousands of sales and critical notice and acclaim from many reviewers. Minecraft runs via the JAVA runtime, so its not a resident OS program, it can run on all kinds of OS's. However I've noticed its a big laggy at times, not in terms of network speed, but in terms of CPU/GPU. This is because the JRE is running as a Normal Priority app. Problem with this when you end up with Minecraft running on top of the JRE, it's not provided enough CPU time to do its thing. Anyway how to resolve this issue... www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=56803

Server is up and running and people are busy building. The server is set to max. 20 players at the moment, but all it takes is a text file modification to set it higher. Got a chest reserved for you in the BOS base Bevy, so get in when you can.

MINECRAFT DISASTER
Well pissed off. When I backed up the server and loaded it again it reverted back to the old backup. Dunno how this happened. Maybe it didn't write the shit to the hard drive or something but it's all fucked. Shit load of fuck. Feel like a twat for losing all of your work. Genuinely sorry guys.

The new server map is up. This time hopefully there wont be any screw ups! Couple of improvements to the game: 1. If you're experiencing black screens and crashes with far draw distance, try running the game with this command (put it in a batch file): "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe" -Xms512M -Xmx768M -jar "C:\Program Files (x86)\Minecraft\Minecraft.exe" Just modify it accordingly. 2. Install the updated texture pack. I recommend this one, it looks pretty good (but there are loads of others to choose from): www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=73861To install it, you'll need: www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=46173If you have any problems, give me or Jimmy a shout on teamspeak and we'll talk you through it.

Here's a file I made to keep track of the time in Minecraft. To sync it, just load it up and click Cycle to set the time to midday, then click Start when the sun is directly overhead. Attachments:

I have not used them myself yet Jinx but I know Pew and a few others had a some problems after installing, after a little tweaking with the settings things were fine.
