no not too good, but to be honest i'll be getting a ps3 to play nice ps3 games and hd movies. Besides, i'll be hanging on to my ps2 as it will play any region game, back-ups too. May get mine a few days early thanks to work.

Get my PS3 tomorrow haw-haw.
Keeping on topic: Firmware 1.6 is available to download on the PS Network as of Friday which will apparently provide compatibility with over a thousand PS2 titles (tis not known which titles are covered at the moment though - hopefully the important ones. When Microsoft did this for the launch of the 360, peeps were furious because titles such as GTA and CS weren't supported but Barbie Horseriding was lol).
Other highlights include:
I'd like to add: One cool feature (for the FPS lords) which has been in available since the PS3's birth I noticed in the 'System Settings' is that it supports mouse and keyboard.
However, developers will have to implement the use of mouse and keyboards into their games. I believe Unreal Tournament 3 will be the first. Not sure, but I think FEAR will too.

funk me £450!!!
didn't know they were that much. sorry Sony have just lost the console war.
its still mainly kids who play console games and that means the parents buy the consoles
there's no way your average Joe is going to be spending that kind of money when they can get a wii or egg-box for half the price.
i know they have been selling well this week but thats the hardcore play-station fans. be interesting to see sale figures for 360,wii and play-station come summer.
whats it like anyway hools? ;D

Boss. Mostly playing Motorstorm online.
Microsoft recently stated that most of their users were between 25 and 40 yrs old. I think Sonys machine will go the same way. Pricey it is, but when you look how much the cheapest Blu-ray player (without a console built-in) is, you're talking around 450-500 for that alone.
But yeah, for those who don't know, the kids etc... tis a bit arly. The bright side is hopefully you won't hear many kids moaning down your headset on how you were cheating etc etc.
Got mine set up via HDMI to a 32" HD TV set to 1080p and it looks absolutely spiffing.

Yeah it is too high and 399 sounds like a little more realistic. I mean '425" just looks a little too close to half a grand. I suspect that extra 25 and probably even more is what retailers add on to make up to a ton on each console.
