Retro game creator mad man Jeff Minter, the man who brought us great titles such as Gridrunner, Trip-a-Tron, Mama Llama, Hover Bovver, Iridis Alpha and Meta-Galactic Llamas Battle at the Edge of Time and of course Tempest 2000 (which I love on the Atari Jaguar), is currently working on a game for Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade (the downloadable game service on xbox 360). As usual the plot of the game is utter madness... "In Space Giraffe you are in control of a giraffe. The giraffe fires from its hooves. As you shoot stuff the tail grows longer. The length of the tail determines how many things get smart bombed when you press the smart bomb button - the segments of the tail explode sequentially, taking out one enemy with each segment. If you don't use the tail and keep it until the end of the level you get extra points. Also if you have not noticed there are loads of curse words!" Warning the following screens contain naughty words

Here's a video of this crazy game in action. It sounds ace. Retro game sounds with acidy house and IDM music, Steven Hawkin and german dive bombers From what I can make out, it looks like a madder version of his classic game Tempest. I had to wait until he got to level 2 to actually make that out tho.
