Well chaps I've bit the bullet as it where, gorra have more RAM these days and since I've been running 32 bit OS XP with 4GB in for a while I thought I better upgrade my OS.
Anyway its not as if I'm a n00b to Vista since its exactly like XP with a nice skin. Anyway its all about 64bit OS really since Vista 32 is a complete mystery to me...as to why anyone would use it, buy it...feck knows!
Anyway this brings me to my first problem...UAC (or User Access Control)
This is the annoying pop up asking you if you really want to run the icon you clicked in order to do what you wanted to do...sounds a complete contradiction...errr yeah I clicked on it because I want to run it...deerrrrrrrr!!? And to divulge a little further...well UAC is there to ensure you don't click on anything malicious...wtf...99.9% of the time you'll want to run it, for that 0.1% that you don't and it is malicious then it serves you right for not protecting your computer with a decent (low resource hungry AV package).
So for the complete retards out there that do actually have malicious software and no AV software, we all have to suffer...just in case!
Who are Microsoft really trying to aim the OS at?
'Oh yeah its secure because we've introduced some software in the OS that uses human interaction to decide if something should run or not. I'm sorry but all of a sudden I've now because part of Vista's security framework...pathetic!! Totally and utterly pathetic.
And besides, I dunno if you're like me, and everytime you see a dialog you just click yes because they're wasting your time and you also impatient like me...then it removes the whole thing further from reality.
Anyway soapbox over, the reason for this post is not really for me to vent my angst, I don't actually mind the look and feel of Vista 64 (although the windows explorer is totally g@y), its how to disable UAC and remove it from the security warnings (could of made a better feckin icon than that...reminds me of another poop piece of software called McAfee Virus Guard)
[Anyone with McAfee should take themselves outside and have a word with themselves...and Norton you can go f**k right off!]
And if you've read just what I've said about those 2 and are thinking 'Well mines alright, what's wrong with it?', then you're a f**kin' n00b also and have no right to use never mind own a computer...and if you want some alternatives, there ain't many I'd look at...
Avira
NOD32
Anyway...
DISABLE UAC
1) Run 'regedit'
2) Find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
3) Find DWORD entry EnableLUA
4) Modify and set value to '0' (zero)
DISABLE SECURITY CENTRE WARNING
1) Find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Security Center
2) Add 32bit DWORD called UacDisableNotify
3) Set to '1' to disable
Enjoy n00b free OS!!
Why do we all suffer due to n00bs!!?
